SPD Students Successfully Organized Groundbreaking One Health Project!

From June 28-30, 2024, our first-year SPD students successfully organized the One Health Project, titled “One Health Youth Detective: A Roving Game-Based Workshop for Increasing Youth Literacy in One Health,” in That Phanom District, Nakhon Phanom Province, Thailand. This project engaged 37 high school students from That Phanom School, providing them with an understanding of the interconnectedness of humans, animals, and environmental health.
The project was selected, through a national competition among numerous applicants from Thai universities, with the goal of implementing activities aimed at increasing One Health literacy. We extend our gratitude to the Thailand One Health University Network (THOHUN) Thailand One Health University Network for trusting our students with this initiative. This impactful activity would not have been possible without the support of That Phanom School โรงเรียนธาตุพนม Thatphanom school, Boromarajonani College of Nursing Nakhon Phanom วิทยาลัยพยาบาลบรมราชชนนี นครพนม มหาวิทยาลัยนครพนม Nakhon Phanom University, the District Public Health Office of That Phanom District, the Nakhon Phanom Livestock Provincial Office สำนักงานปศุสัตว์จังหวัดนครพนม, and the Nakhon Phanom Fisheries Provincial Office สนง.ประมงจังหวัด นครพนม
We hope that all participating students gained valuable insights into the One Health concept and their communities. Additionally, we encourage relevant agencies to scale up this project by developing game-based activities to enhance youth involvement and expedite the dissemination of One Health knowledge.
