SPD Social Change Youth Leaders Outreach Programme (Cohort 6)The Social Policy and Development (SPD) programme recently expanded the SPD Social Change Youth Leaders Outreach Programme to Chiang Mai in collaboration with the BA international programme in Humanities and Sustainability (BAHS) at the Faculty of Humanities, Chiang Mai University. The event was held on 23rd December 2023 at Akha Ama Living Factory, a highly successful local coffee company, to introduce both high school and university students to the concept and practices of social entrepreneurship about the sustainable development of rural communities. Students brainstormed and analyzed business plans that contribute to sustainable community development with their team, SPD and BAHS professors and senior students. This provided students with an opportunity to experience SPD and BAHS teaching methods, gain a deeper understanding of social issues through group work, and develop teamwork, analytical and leadership skills.
