Applicants are required to submit a strong portfolio that includes skills gained through participation in various activities. Applicants who meet the admission requirements will be invited to attend an interview. A strong portfolio should include skills gained through participation in activities such as: 

  • National or international social science competition award. 
  • Participation in, or being a part of, the creation of social development project, activities or events. 
  • Overseas experience though exchange program.

Admission Requirements for Academic Year 2026

Admission Requirements

Thai and Foreign applicants: 
      1. High school certificate or equivalent (GPA minimum score of 2.50)
      2. English proficiency score (TU-GET/ IELTS/ TOEFL/ SAT/ NEW SAT/ GAOKAO/ DUOLINGO)
      3. A completed statement of purpose 
*** FOR APPLICANTS FROM MYANMAR, Myanmar’s High School Certificate is not equivalent to Grade 12 in Thailand according to Thailand’s Ministry of Education’s Announcement on Equivalency of Overseas Qualifications and Thammasat University regulation. Therefore, a GED is needed when applying for admission.

Additional required documents

  • A completed application form
  • A two-inch photograph
  • A copy of valid personal Identification Card or Passport 
  • Official Transcript (For those whose transcript is not in English or Thai, please provide an official translated version in Thai or English)
  • Official score report of the English Proficiency Test (TU-GET/ IELTS/ TOEFL/ SAT/ NEW SAT/ GAOKAO/ DUOLINGO)
  • A completed Statement of Purpose (350-500 words)
  • Certificate of awards, academic and volunteer activities, creative works, or special talents.
  • Reference Letter (optional)
  • Experience of overseas study or exchange program in an English-speaking country (desirable)
  • Work experience (optional)

English proficiency score requirements  

One of the following:

  • IELTS (Academic): Overall band 5.0 and above
  • TOFEL (PBT/ITP minimum 400/ IBT minimum 45)
  • TU-GET (PBT minimum 400/ CBT minimum 45)
  • NEW SAT: minimum score of 400
  • GSAT: minimum score of 400
  • Gaokao (English) minimum score of 90
  • Duolingo (English) minimum score of 85

Test score must be from a test taken within 2 years from the date of examination to the date of registration as a TU Student.
