SPD heads towards comprehensive understanding of social justice in the face of death

On May 2nd, 2023, the Social Policy and Development (SPD) program at Thammasat University’s Faculty of Social Administration was successful in organizing a hybrid seminar entitled “Death and Social Justice: Death does not Discriminate, but Social Justice Does”. The esteemed guest speaker was Khunying Porntip Rojanasunan, former director of the Central Institute of Forensic Science in Thailand. This seminar focused on exploring the ways in which social justice can stand up for dead victims and how social policy can work to create a fairer society when death is involved.

This seminar drew the attention of many people, including university students from Thammasat and other Thai universities, practitioners, leading NGOs, and government officers. The SPD program would like to thank the guest speaker and express their appreciation for the success of the seminar. It is their hope that this seminar could enhance recognition of those working towards issues of social injustices surrounding death.
