The Social Policy and Development (SPD) Programme resumed overseas field visits following the end of the COVID-19 pandemic. These visits allow students to apply knowledge gained from all their classes since they started the programme toward pragmatic ways of development in Singapore. During 11-13 May 2023, students learned interconnected social topics, such as city planning and management, housing policy, poverty issues, and aging society issues from Chua Thian Poh Community Leadership Centre, National University of Singapore (NUS), Singapore City Gallery and LIVINGSPACE, Housing Development Board. This visit expanded the students’ exposure to development paths and policy formation in a developed Southeast Asian country.
