From June 29 through July 3, Ajarn Kevin Cook worked with Ajarn Arunee Limmanee, SPD alumni Thorfan Dechachainimit, and current SPD student Thitichon Thanawong to provide the Principles of Job Coaching training in Bangkok. This project is a collaboration between United Nations ESCAP, DEP, and APCD.
The training was the beginning of a pilot project and the training attendees will now begin practicing job coaching and using the strategies they learned to help persons with disabilities find and maintain employment.
Ajarn Kevin and Khun Thorfan will hold monthly meetings with the job coaches to discuss their progress and offer support and guidance. The data and impact of the pilot program will support further expansion of job coaching services in Thailand and increase employment opportunities for persons with disabilities.
