Combatting climate change through advanced urban tree care, empowering communities, and fostering green jobs in Thailand.

On 8 October 2026, SPD students on the Social Entrepreneurship and Social Innovation course visited the social enterprise Rukkakorn.

Rukkakorn is a social enterprise founded in 2016 to address the challenges of low-quality tree care and the lack of skilled tree care professionals in Thailand. Rukkakorn promotes proper tree care that benefits the environment and people’s livelihoods while creating sustainable jobs and enhancing individuals’ skills through tree care training. Rukkakorn also provides employment to ex-prison inmates, and partners with major coroprations such as PTT.

Thank you to Khun Oraya and her team for welcoming us and sharing such valuable insights into the highs and lows of social entrepreneurship. We wish Rukkakorn all the best in improving our environment and shifting mindsets. Special thank you to our 4th year student Aming for her language support.
