SPD Students Celebrate Indian Teachers’ Day at the Swami Vivekanand Cultural Centre Embassy of India

On 5 September 2025, Ajarn Dr. Mahesh Chougule and Ajarn Dr. Hao Sheng Duan, along with 15 students from the Social Policy and Development (SPD) Programme, Faculty of Social Administration, Thammasat University, participated in the Indian Teachers’ Day Celebration organized by the Swami Vivekanand Cultural Centre, Cultural Centre of the Embassy of India, Bangkok.
The event featured distinguished guest speakers, including Dr. Pornchai Mongkhonvanit, President of Siam University, and Asst. Prof. Dr. Sombat Mangmeesukhsiri, Managing Director of the Sanskrit Studies Center, Faculty of Archaeology, Silpakorn University.
The program also included a vibrant cultural performance by renowned Indian artists Mr. Nilimesh Chakraborty (Tabla player) and Mr. Arnab Bhattacharya (Sarod player).
The celebration was chaired by Dr. Chaitanya Prakash Yogi, Director of the Swami Vivekanand Cultural Centre, who emphasized the importance of cross-cultural exchange and academic collaboration.
Thammasat University’s participation reflects its commitment to promoting international cultural understanding, academic networking, and student engagement in global events.
